Schoolcampus Merzen
The programme for the school is broken down into several volumes that are positioned around a central multifunctional hall. The tyypology of a village is evoked and translated into a volumetric figure in order to blend it into the surroundings in terms of scale. Landscape and architecture are intertwined via the porosity in between the various parts of the building. The topic of architecture as landscape is expressed via various courtyard-like situations on the groundfloor as well as on the upper floor with the extensive roof-terraces with gardens and open-air classrooms.
