System-Change

The semester subject was a spatial installation in scale 1:1. The intervention in the student work area should have an exhibition character and form the arena for the final project review. The designs are made up of at least two material systems. The first material system is a black and white contrasting fabric that is digitally woven. The pattern sample is not subjected to simple repetition due to the digital control. Each team could design a continuous ( 5m * 2m = 10m2 ) large weave to develop pattern differentiations which were produced by the company ANKER. The industrially produced weave was then applied onto individually designed wooden substructures that form furniture or room dividers. The wood was sponsored by the company PFLEIDERER. The carpet could be extended into all spatial dimensions .
